Sariana is the artistic director of Jewels of the Desert and a dynamic Middle Eastern dance performer and instructor, whose passion for dance captives audiences everywhere. Dancing since the age of five, Sariana has a strong dance background including ballet, jazz and ballroom. In 1988 she began studying belly dance after returning from a trip to Egypt where she was inspired to pursue this beautiful art form. Audiences admire her artistic interpretations of complex Middle Eastern rhythms and her understanding of the culture. On stage, her ability to reach and entertain an audience with warmth and humor has made her a much sought after performer.
Yasmine is the Assistant Director of Jewels of the Desert and brings to dance more than 30 years of dance experience, including ballet.
Aminah is one of the original members of Jewels of the Desert and teaches the Wednesday night bellydance class at the Yucca Valley Community Center. She also serves as artistic director for Prism, the beginning bellydance troupe.
Zerrin is an original member of Jewels of the Desert and is an award winning pet groomer who owns Sandy Paws Pet Grooming in Yucca Valley. She and her poodle Cindy were featured in "People" magazine!
Samina is a sassy soloist who brings to the troupe a strong background in jazz dance. She is also the owner of Indian Cove Ranch.(www.IndianCoveRanch.com)
SeFa has studied a variety of bellydance styles including tribal and raks sharqi. She is a dedicated student of the art form.
Ray Jayne is a lovely soloist who brings years of bellydance experience to the troupe from her previous home on Catalina Island. She is a yoga afficionado who pursues holistic treatments for her clients through facials and other regimens.
